BODY TO SOUL WORKSHOP

When’s the last time you felt calm, centered, grounded, and enjoyed the present moment in all its mess and glory?

Do you remember when you didn’t struggle with carb-to-protein ratios?

Or when you could move or play without pain?

Or when you trusted your body’s cues rather than consulting your smart watch?

What creative dreams have fallen by the wayside?

If the answers to these questions leave you feeling stuck or like you’re missing something, join me for this experiential workshop.

Wednesday, April 30, 2025, 6-8 PM at the Wimberley Village Library

Five Signs You May Need This Workshop:

1. You juggle family schedules, budget, and what to cook for dinner, and you “Namaste” through clinched teeth at the end of your morning yoga class.

2. Sarcasm and blame have invaded your daily affirmations, creating a running internal dialog of endless chatter.

3. You find yourself reaching for the Oreos, or a glass of Chardonnay, or cozying up with Netflix for six episodes of “Bake Off” to shut off the noise in your head.

4. You look in the mirror at a tired, frumpy, middle-aged version of yourself and think, “Who are you and what have you done with my mojo?”

5. Your most creative fantasy lately is running away to a cabin in the woods. Alone. For one glorious night of uninterrupted sleep.

What if I told you that the place to start making sustainable changes for your overwhelmed, overburdened, and over-extended state, is not with your thinking, but with your body?

And wait! Before you start backing out of the room, hear me out!

Your body holds every single moment of your experience – your thoughts, your dreams, your successes, your challenges, embedded in the very synapses and circuitry of your brain and nervous system.  This is why a touch, or a song, or an aroma may conjure a memory of a forgotten time.

It is your body’s nervous system that controls the stress response and the cascading reactions thereafter – heart racing, laser focus, muscle tension, adrenaline pumping. What follows (or should follow) is the relaxation response – a return to rest, the letting down of high alerthealing.

In this workshop, you’ll learn to safely access your innate healing mechanism to return your body to neutral, where you can begin to use breath, movement, support, and exploration to re-wire the circuitry

Body to soul.

How It Works

  • You will learn simple techniques to ground, calm, and center yourself so you can feel safe and present in any situation, anytime.
  • You will engage in easy-to-practice activities to deepen your awareness of your body’s unique messages so you stop denying your needs and learn to trust your gut instinct.
  • Through “sensation versus story”, you will learn to observe, explore, and allow – supporting your body’s natural wisdom – so you can detach from drama, blame, and criticism in favor of curiosity, wonder, and play.
  • You will learn to check in with your body as you create, using resistance and curiosity to inform your creative project.
  • By creating with a shared sense of community, you will experience synchronicity in action and see a creative project come to life.

A little about your facilitator...

Hi, I’m Carol Holguin,

For years, I worked as a massage therapist, helping people release tension, ease pain, and feel better in their bodies. But I started noticing something – sometimes, no matter how much work I did on the muscles, the tension would come right back.

Clients would tell me they felt relief for a while, but something deeper was still holding on. And honestly, I felt it in myself too. I had done therapy, bodywork, yoga, all of it. But there were things I still carried, patterns I couldn’t quite shake.

I knew something was missing.

That’s when I started exploring Trauma Touch Therapy™. I’d known about it for years, but when I finally went through the training, something shifted. I was able to release the trauma that I’d been carrying since I was a young girl.

Things that I didn’t even notice I was carrying with me until I uncovered them in a session.

The best part is that it wasn’t anything dramatic. It wasn’t forced. It was organic – my nervous system finally letting go.

Those experiences showed me what real healing can look like.

Now, my work isn’t just about the body – it’s about the whole person. Most of my clients come to me feeling stuck. They’ve done the therapy, read the books, tried to reframe their thinking, but their bodies are still holding on to something.

Through Trauma Touch Therapy™ and body-based coaching, I help them reconnect, release what’s been weighing them down, and create space for something new.

Whether it’s recovering from trauma, navigating stress, or unlocking creativity, this work allows them to finally move forward in a way they couldn’t before.

If you’ve done all the work and still feel like something’s holding you back, your body might be carrying the answer.

If that resonates, join me in this workshop. I’d love to support you in whatever your next chapter looks like.

What it's like working with Carol...

“Carol is by far the best physical and emotional well being professional I have worked with. She is a true rock in a river of turbulence. Her hands and heart are magical.”

Toni

“Amazing experience all the way around from start to finish. Was nervous at first to get started but from the get go Carol was so helpful and understanding and walked me through the whole process. So thankful for Carol and all she’s helped me work through.”

Elan

I found that I have missed connecting with nature and want to find my way back… I feel I benefitted most from learning different ways to ground myself, feeling accountable to myself and the group, and pushing myself to be more connected to my body…The challenge helped me slow down & focus on just me & my body for a bit each day.”
